About Me
EmacArtwork is where fine art meets culinary artistry. I'm Emily Yochum—a painter, educator, and cookie artist working from my South Hills Home.
The Foundation
I've been creating art for as long as I can remember. After studying painting and art education in college, I began my career as an educator while building a commission-based painting practice on the side. When I became a mother, I transitioned my work from a garage studio to a dedicated space in our home, where I focused on oil pastel portraits—homes, pets, and the subjects people hold dear.
The Evolution
Cookie decorating entered my life unexpectedly. What began as a single favor evolved into something I couldn't ignore—a new medium that combined technical precision with artistic expression. For the past two years, I've been exploring the intersection of sugar and art, developing techniques that bring the same level of craftsmanship to cookies that I bring to canvas.
The Work
Whether I'm painting a beloved family home in oil pastels or designing custom cookies for a celebration, my approach remains the same: thoughtful design, careful execution, and work that adds something meaningful to people's lives.
I'd love to create something for you.
Warmly,
Emily
